1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup sliced
mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped
onions
1/2 cup chopped
celery
1/2 cup diced green
bell pepper
2 cups cooked rice
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
3/4 tsp ground
oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
leaves
1/2 tsp garlic
powder
3 slices American
cheese
Cook beef and
vegetables over medium-high heat in skillet until meat is no longer pink and
vegetables are crisp tender, stirring frequently; drain. Combine meat mixture
with remaining ingredients except cheese in buttered 2-quart baking dish;
arrange cheese slices on top. Bake at 350F for 20 to 25 minutes.
